This role is responsible for operating cold heading machines to produce high-volume fasteners and precision components used in the automotive industry.
This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in metal forming, CNC machining, or production equipment operation, as well as entry-level candidates looking to grow in manufacturing.
Pay - $26+ per hour.
Shift - 1st or 2nd - flexibility needed.
10 hour shifts - Monday-Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate cold heading machines (headers) to produce metal fasteners and components.
- Monitor machines to ensure quality, efficiency, and production targets are met.
- Perform tooling changes, adjustments, and minor machine troubleshooting.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual inspection methods.
- Ensure all parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Load raw materials (wire/coil stock) into machines and maintain proper feed.
- Complete production reports, downtime logs, and quality documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S standards).
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating cold heading machines, stamping presses, or similar equipment preferred.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or metal forming is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and quality specifications.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliable attendance and team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with multi-die cold headers (e.g., National, Sacma, or similar machines).
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO quality standards.
- Background in fastener manufacturing or high-volume production.
