About the Job
The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and improving manufacturing processes in an automotive injection molding and soft trim production facility. This position helps keep machines running efficiently, produces quality parts, solves production problems, and supports operators on the production floor.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Set up and start machines for production.
  • Adjust machine settings to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Assist with mold changes, machine setups, and tooling adjustments.
  • Knowledge of plastic materials, molding processes, and soft trim manufacturing techniques (e.g., lamination, edge folding).
  • Ability to set and adjust process parameters for injection molding equipment.
  • Track and report production efficiency and performance.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Complete simple mechanical repairs and general equipment upkeep.
  • Review production data to identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Investigate quality issues and help determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support inspections and quality checks during production.
  • Work with Maintenance and Quality teams to resolve equipment and product issues.
  • Help ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain setup sheets, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Support new product launches, testing, and validation activities.
  • Train operators on machine operation, process controls, quality checks, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide hands-on support to operators and help improve their skills.
  • Keep accurate records of process changes and production results.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in injection molding, automotive manufacturing, or a similar production environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools and read work instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to document production information.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work around manufacturing equipment.
