Job Title: Wiring Shop Coordinator / Operations Coordinator.

Position Summary:
The Wiring Shop Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of shop operations, ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently, materials are available, and finished products are shipped accurately and on time. This role serves as the central point of communication between production, purchasing, and customers, helping the shop run smoothly and meet delivery commitments.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Job Scheduling & Production Coordination:
  • Schedule and prioritize wiring jobs based on customer deadlines, material availability, and shop capacity.
  • Track job progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery dates.
  • Communicate job status, changes, and priorities to shop personnel and management.

Materials Management & Inventory Control:
  • Manage materials for all jobs, ensuring components and supplies are available when needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing or reorders.
  • Organize and maintain accurate material records for work orders and jobs.

Shipping & Receiving:
  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and paperwork.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and customers.
  • Track shipments and resolve any shipping or delivery issues.

Customer & Internal Communication:
  • Serve as a primary contact for customers regarding job timelines and shipping updates.
  • Work closely with production staff to address material shortages or scheduling conflicts.
  • Support management with operational reporting and job tracking.

General Shop Support:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
  • Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce delays.
  • Ensure compliance with shop procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in a manufacturing, wiring, electrical assembly, or production environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, small-team setting.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems spreadsheets, Fishbowl a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move throughout the shop and warehouse areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 35 lbs as needed.

Work Environment:
  • Small wiring/assembly shop environment.
  • Combination of office coordination and hands-on shop interaction.
