Job Summary:
The TIG Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welds using TIG welding techniques on aluminum and requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure finished products meet company and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine welding requirements.
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to join, fabricate, and repair metal parts and structures with minimal assistance.
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform welding in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions as needed.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in proper working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Perform related tasks such as grinding, cutting, and finishing metal surfaces.
- Assist in other production duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in welding preferred.
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder or similar welding role.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of TIG welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
- AWS certification preferred
- Familiarity with other welding methods, MIG is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Safety-focused mindset and ability to follow established procedures.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/production facility with exposure to heat, noise, and welding equipment.
- Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmet, gloves, and safety glasses.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity required.
- Visual acuity to inspect welds and ensure quality standards.
